This competition is limited to commercially-produced, printed, interactive, or other media, and considers the design of complete units only. AIGA Alaska will not assume any responsibility or liabilities associated with any content used to display, promote, and/or represent submitted works for The BIG One.
With the exceptions of public service, self promotion or student pieces, work entered must have been the result of paid creative services in the normal course of business.
Entries and judging for The BIG One are completed 100% online through a third-party submission portal. We have worked tirelessly to find a vendor each year that offers a streamlined user experience all-around. After entries close, submissions are vetted by the AIGA Board and the judging rounds begin. The first judging round is private, completed by our volunteer judges. The second judging round is the people's choice voting—open to the public—with all votes having to be qualified via Facebook profile. The people's choice voting round will be advertised before online submissions close.

Physical entries will be created by the AIGA Board for each entry using the cover image provided along with all pertinent info included with each submission. Depending on physical space available and the total amount of entries received, the physical entry template will either be 8.5x11, 8.5x14, or 11x17. All physical entries will be created using the same template and arranged in the space by random order.
All entries will be displayed at the Anchorage Museum. After awards are announced, winners will be indicated on their respective displays. Participants who wish to retain their physical entry display must contact AIGA Alaska before the end of Anchorage Design Week.
